Causality, Chance, and Conflict

it's about:

  • Causality – models, rates of change, feedback loops, time delays, system dynamics, ...
  • Chance – probability, averages, variances, correlations, statistical significance, noise, bayesian belief updating, ...
  • Conflict – goals, optimization, utility, deception, game theory, ...

That is:

  • See Clearly – when data are complex and non-obvious system interactions must be understood
  • Know Deeply – when diverse forces interact, with cascading uncertainties
  • Choose Wisely – when decisions must be made and diverse incompatible priorities must be balanced

And map those, metaphorically, into:

  • Mindfulness – observing, paying attention, being present in the here and now, attending to all that is
  • Nonattachment – accepting whatever happens, staying open to possibilities, being flexible, recognizing emergence
  • Oneness – seeing both unity and diversity, practicing love and kindness, bringing creative energy to repair the World

Or, in the shortest possible terms:

  • Be
  • If
  • Do

and consider also:

  • complementarity
  • wiki
  • category theory
  • toki pona
  • zen
  • ...
